Your go-to spot for great coffee (also for take out), and the best lunch you can imagine. You can also choose for healthy but one thing is for sure; you will have a wonderful lunch time. Awesome service and the place is super “Instagrammable”, so don’t forget your camera. Also fun decorations during special holidays. You will love the setting of this lunch hotspot in Landhuis Bloemhof. Don’t forget to make a reservation and note that they’re not open during the weekend.
2. Landhuis Klein Santa Martha
When travelling to or from Westpunt, stop by the colonial Klein Santa Martha Manor for a delicious lunch with a view. This renovated country mansion – which is also used as a hotel – has a terrace and a spectacular view of the countryside and nearby bay. Hospitality is a core value of the Santa Martha Manor. From the location to the food: this is Curacao at its best. Visit the lookout point at Santa Martha bay to end your lunch in a stunning way.
3. La Bohème
Great for breakfast (we are fan of their smoothies) and especially fun on Thursday evenings during Punda Vibes. This cute little Bistro is run by a Chilean family and their ambiance has a South American and Cuban feel. La Bohème is very vintage, tasty and extremely picturesque.
4. Karakter
Karakter is not your typical fine dining restaurant. During daytime Karakter is a perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing beach day with lounge chairs, cushions and a lot of shade. You can choose to have your breakfast and lunch in the comfort of your own lounge chair. And during night time Karakter transforms into a cozy fine dining restaurant where you can enjoy culinary delights while enjoying the sunset. You will love their menu and it is incredibly easy to spend a full day there having breakfast, lunch and dinner.
5. Fort Nassau
Fort Nassau on Curacao is situated high upon a hill offering a beautiful 360º view over the city of Willemstad. A sea of lights stretches to the horizon at night offering the most spectacular view. Their menu offers a delicious mix between meat and fish. The historical character of the 18th century fort, the modern interior, the stunning view and tasty food, make your visit worthwhile.
6. De Visserij
If you like fish, you should definitely visit De Visserij. The menu varies, depending on the catch of the day, and all ingredients are as fresh as they can be. This small, authentic restaurant by the water is very popular among locals. They never have the same fish; their menu varies every day. They have excellent quality fish with great taste.
7. Mosa Restaurant
Mosa offers a unique shared dining experience. This is a nice place to visit with a small group. The intimate courtyard is super cozy, and their staff is very attentive.
8. Rozendaels
This restaurant is a romantic open-air bistro located in the Penstraat. Enjoy a good piece of meat with some cozy local mazurka sounds in the background. They are also famous for their Dutch Zeeland mussels in Augusts.
9. Mundo Bizarro
Mundo Bizarro is colorful and Cuban. This restaurant is located in the heart of Pietermaai and offers tasty food and drinks (from their super cute bar) and often has live music too. A unique experience that’s definitely worth it.
10. Restaurant & Café Gouverneur de Rouville:
An eclectic dining experiance with balcony and courtyard seating. De Gouverneur is housed in a restored 18th-century Dutch mansion overlooking Santa Anna Bay and the harbour in the capital, Willemstad. Among its specialties is Curacao’s national dish, the keshi yena, which is spiced chicken meat, olives, pickled onions, and plums wrapped in cheese. Karni stoba, a local stew of marinated beef and bacon simmered in onions, garlic, curry, nutmeg, bell peppers, and tomatoes, is also served here.
Don’t forget to try their Cuban banana soup and poke bowls of shrimp tempura, tuna, and tempeh(Indonesian-style tofu). De Gouverneur has a balcony with a great view of the Handelskade, a popular UNESCO world heritage site, which features a strip of colourful colonial buildings painted in pastel colours.
